Sultanhan Hotel*****, Istambul

An architectural marvel at the heart of the historical peninsula Sultanahmet, the Sultanhan Hotel stands as an imposing accommodation option offering all types of amenities for the comfortable stay of guests. The Ottoman style decorations of the hotel are eye catching. The external window railings, balcony rails, store surfacing and consoles make the hotel unique in appearance. Handmade stonework of Antalya-Elmalı style is used for finishing the covering of the ground floor front and central part with the entrance door in style elegantly. The balcony railings are uniquely made with casted aluminium showcasing Seldug motives.
The main entrance is very attractive with the design of a joint stone arc following the traditional architecture. The massive door has two wings to display the beauty of Seldug motives. The external front looks brilliant and amazing with the above features. The window frames and door frames are made of strong oak wood and the glass panes used has two layers for perfect insulation.
The lobby of the Sultanhan Hotel,, a prime attraction of the hotel, is pretty large with about 400sqm area and high ceiling of 5 meters. Beautiful high quality marble with with cinctures of green granite is used for flooring the lobby and is also used for covering the surfaces of four massive main columns in the lobby. 16th century Ottoman styled silk curtains, kaftans and historical items are used to decorate the lobby. The ceiling of the lobby is beautified with nine wide boat applications of papier mache. It showcases the old traditional architectural style.
The Terrace Restaurant offers amazing views of the Topkapı Palace, the Bosphorus, the Blue Mosque with its splendid minarets and the Marmara Sea. This can accommodate 200 persons at a time. 100 people can be placed in the covered area and the other 100 in open air. International cuisine and traditional Turkish items are offered to its guests in this hotel. The hotel offers breakfast, lunch and dinner on all the days.
Other amenities include Hamam (Turkish Bath) for 12 persons and sauna for 8 persons. The hotel is located at a perfect place to explore the nearby attractions like the Topkapı Palace, the Hagia Sophia, the Blue Mosque, the Hippodrome, the Grand Bazaar, and the Yerebatan Cistern. All these are just few minutes walk away.
